Makes Me Cry

Pasintabi medyo emo charot. First, I don't really cry because of that. Second, the lyrics struck me when I saw those roses wilt. Familiar? It's Disconnected by The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus. Finally, it reminded me of Bazooka Rockz on August where 3 of my fave bands are joining - All Time Low (headlining performance), The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, A Rocket to the Moon (IT'S THEIR LAST PERFORMANCE OMGGGG HELP ME), with Anberlin, We Came as Romans, Tonight Alive, Radio Drive By, UchuuSentai: NOIZ and four Filipino bands Save me Hollywood, FaintLight, Mad Hatter Day and Penguin.

Imagine seeing them all in one day for just Php 3,000 + Php 800/each for the fast pass mad meet and greet sessions with your fave bands! This could be the perfect birthday gift. The perfect birthday gift. Calling out all supernatural creatures to help be in this. Going or not, I am so gonna cry.

Roses are Blue

Having nothing to do this summer; having read a book of magical creatures; having blue as my favorite color; out of just the boredom that day could give, the thought of experimenting hit me - turning white roses into blue. I searched for procedures (though I'd done this before on a red rose. It turned to violet, yes.) because I was seriously serious.

Blue roses don't exist in nature because according to some sources, roses lack the specific gene that has the ability to produce a true blue color. Because of this, blue roses symbolize mystery and ambiguity and enchantment and a sense of the impossible. It seems surreal that gives it a sense of appreciating something that can't be easily grasped.

To turn white roses to blue, we'll be needing:

(This preservative is only an alternative suggested by my mother but this product is mainly used for aches in your body.)

4.) Scissors
5.) Vase
6.) Cool water

Cut the end of the stem (about an inch) diagonally. Fill 3/4 of the vase with water. Put 3-4 drops of Ocean Mineral. Put 10-20 drops of food coloring or until you get your shade of blue. Stir.

My stirrer says "Hi!".
Wait for it for 8 hours onward. When it reaches your desired shade replace the blue water with clear water :)

Day 1. After 8 hours.

Day 2. Everything's blue!

Day 3. They're starting to wilt. Wilted roses remind me of something (but it deserves another post). There you have it! Blue roses!

I don't want to throw those blue petals away so I placed them in the ashtray along with the potpourri.

Costa Marina

"Sige na kuya. Gora na." aaaaaand we're heading to the beach! A week ago Pearl invited us to take a dip at the beach and have a get-together before classes start. Fortunately my mom said yes and I cannot wait but I rather stay unexcited baka hindi matuloy or my mom might change her mind. But then it happened - May 22, 2013 :))))) Waterproof cam alert!

It was a low tide when we reached the resort so we opted to play volleyball/soccer and cards...

and then decided to have a walk in the beach, found a sea urchin, and found a perfect spot for swimming - walang bato!

See that leaf above? It was mistaken as a Manta Ray. A baby manta ray. *troll*

We had sinugba, adobo, boiled eggs, bread and pork and beans for lunch under the rain. Oh the kids without their parents...but hey thanks to them allowing us and giving us their trust ;)

We can't believe this happened. It was our very first outing. Outing (n.) an event which we can't possibly go to because we've got strict 'rents especially if a boat ride to get across is involved. But we did. Hoho hashtag big girls and boys. Unfortunately we aren't complete but I'm hoping someday...someday.

It was great to be with them! Great to be out of the house! Great to break out of the usual routine though it was only for a day but for days it will remain, say, I'm sunburnt. Ah, this is a summer story to tell :)

Book Shopping

My mother can't say no when I ask her if we can go to the nearby mall when you offer her to just walk - no driving, no commuting; when you offer her 3 slices of pizza; when she gets nothing to spend; and when, of course, she isn't tired from work. That's leisure time plus the 15-minute exercise!

I did a book shopping slash catching up with what's worth catching up (I hope). I'm trying my best to keep up with my 2013 challenge and read what's on the to-read shelf and somehow pull myself away from the computer.
